Professor of Natural Resource Ecology and Management
Associate Director, Bioeconomy Institute, Iowa State University
STRIPS Wildlife Research Lead

I conduct science to help farmers evaluate tradeoffs associated with different land management practices. My training and experience is in landscape ecology and natural resource management, particularly as applied to agricultural, forest, and avian ecology. I am one of the principal investigators on the STRIPS project, researching bird community response to prairie strips. I also lead the STRIPS communications team. Outside of work, I enjoy my time with Pete, Freddy, Ray, and Inga, particularly when we can get up to our family farm near Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
