Tom Isenhart was recently one of the presenters at the Stream and Watershed Integrated Management (SWIM), workshop that includes presentations by watershed and stream management professionals from Iowa State University, Iowa DNR, Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship - Division of Soil Conservation, and the USDA - Natural Resources Conservation Service. The SWIM workshop is designed to train individuals who work with stream/watershed principles and practices and consists of both classroom instruction and field trips where participants develop project plans for management of a local site. Tom was one of the original organizers and remains one of the leads of this outstanding conference that has trained over 300 participants over the 12 years it has been held. I guess you could say Tom and his colleagues are teaching others to SWIM.
