Dr. Richard Schultz Invited to the Inauguration of the Con-E-ECT UNESCO Chair on Conservation and Ecotourism of Riparian and Deltaic Ecosystems in Greece
The Con-E-ECT UNESCO Chair will focus attention across Europe on developing tourist activities in riparian area and major stream deltas without negatively impacting the natural structure and function of these ecosystems. Dr. Schultz found it very interesting to listen to scientists from most of the Balkan countries share their views on these ecosystems. They were impressed with the work he and his team have done in restoring riparian ecosystems and thought Dr. Schultz' model was very applicable to situations that they face.
Dr. Schultz is encouraged that future collaboration will occur as they develop programs in their individual countries.
