Q. What is the company/organization’s mission statement?
A. To conserve and enhance our natural resources in cooperation with individuals and organizations to improve the quality of life for Iowans and ensure a legacy for future generations.

Q. Describe your internship/work or volunteer responsibilities (daily, overall):
A.   • Enforce State of Iowa fishing and boating laws.
       • Provide court testimony supporting the issuance of citations.
       • Maintain enforcement vehicles.
       • Present fishing and boating programs to a public audience.

Q. What did you enjoy most about your work experience?
A. I enjoyed having a first hand look at how DNR officers carry out there daily activities.

Q. What resources did you use to obtain the work experience?
A. Previous experience and knowledge of state laws.

Q. What skills or knowledge did you acquire from this experience that will be useful in the career you want to have after graduation?
A. How to deal with different types of people, experience with criminal proceedings, and operation of equipment.

Q. How has this experience impacted your future career plans?
A. It has confirmed my intentions to pursue a career in conservation law enforcement.

A. Keep a level head and be open to learning.

A. I had a great chance to network with other officers who are now some of my best references.
