Position

I am a first-generation Mexican immigrant that grew up in small town Iowa. I am one of the first in my family to get a bachelors and pursue a higher degree. I grew up camping, fishing, and doing many other outdoor activities, which led me to pursue a degree in Animal Ecology. I am in the McNair Program where I gained many research experiences and help graduate school. During my undergrad I took courses in ecology, wildlife biology and plant ecosystems. My experiences in undergrad made want to continue a career in conservation and wildlife biology, I am interested in the interactions between agriculture and conservation practices in Iowa.

More Information

My interest involves investigating the Prairie STRIPS project and their interactions. Specifically, the interactions between beneficial insects and harmful insects found the STRIPS and crop fields.

I really enjoy traveling, camping, hiking, fishing, food, music, and watching anime. If I am not doing any of these things you can usually find me working out or hanging out with family and friends.
