Small Ponds Serve A Big Fish

Ryan Lane, Animal Ecology B.S. 1999 and M.S. 2001, helps build and run the new Cargill Animal Nutrition Aqua Research facility. It will help to deliver better feed to aquaculture facilities.

Wendt Flies Squaw Creek

Ashley Wendt, NREM graduate student, flew Squaw Creek as part of her master's thesis project. Her helicopter ride included local KCCI meteorologist, John McLaughlin and his helicopter company.

Agroecology Team Working For Sustainability

The concept of sustainability has gained more widespread acceptance today, perhaps in part because of the Leopold Center 's work. The center tries hard to involve the people it does research for, according to Johnson, which may have brought some of the antagonists into the sustainable fold.

Professor Dick Schultz helps in researching and implementing buffer strips to increase sustainability of water quality in Iowa.

NREM's Fall 2006 Dean's List

The Fall 2006 Dean's list included 68 students from NREM.  The Dean's list indicates that a student has carried at least 12 hours of graded or S-F courses with a 3.50 grade-point average or above.  View the entire list (word file)


McNabb Honored With Service Award

Dr. Harold (Sande) McNabb was honored by the Iowa State University College of Agriculture for receiving the George Washington Carver Distinguished Service Award. His reception was held on October 20, 2006 in the Memorial Union.

43rd Annual Paul L. Errington Memorial Lecture

The 43rd Errington Lecture will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2007 in room 1414 Molecular Bilology Building.

Dr Wiens will be presenting a technical talk on Friday, 06 Apr 2007 at 3 pm. The location will be: E164 Lagomarcino. The title of Dr Weins' Techical talk is "Scaling conservation to match reality (but which reality?)"
