Thesis: Integration of Landsat Data into the MSDAMP Geographic Information System for Regional Recreation Planning Applications.
Ph.D., Higher Education, Iowa State University, in progress

Teaching

Dr. Kane currently teaches one graduate class per year in Landscape Architecture (LA 567X, Advanced GIS Landscape Modeling) with Paul Anderson.

He has also taught Introduction to ArcView at Iowa State each semester from '97-'02 and for the Iowa Dept. of Natural Resources (EPPL7 & ArcView) from ’88-96.

From 1993-1998, he taught GIS classes at Drake University in the Drake Geographic Sciences Lab. Fall semester class was Introduction to GIS and Spring semester was Applications of GIS.

Research

Geographic information systems (GIS) applications for natural resource management, hydrologic systems analysis, landcover change analysis, demographic analysis, and historic and cultural analysis.
