M.S. Wildlife Biology, Abilene Christian University, 1975
Ph.D. Range Science, Colorado State University, 1978
Research
Dr. Engle's research focuses on the influence of rangeland management and other land management activities on terrestrial ecosystem and landscape properties, including nutrient cycling, threatened and endangered species, and critical habitats. Many of these studies are enveloped in technology development aimed at mitigating environment degradation associated with various rangeland management practices, exurban sprawl, and invasive species. His future research will focus on management and restoration of fragmented, mesic tallgrass prairie using the interaction of fire and grazing.
