Three departmental faculty development workshops on learner-centered outcomes assessment were held in Spring 2003. These workshops were supported by a TEACH Grant through the Iowa State University Center for Teaching Excellence. Participation by faculty was voluntary.

In 2004, a faculty member was named to the Harmon Professorship for a three year period to work on outcomes assessment for the department. In addition to the named professorship, current expense funds are also made available for support of the professorship. Those funds are being used to provide support for the outcomes assessment efforts in the department.
